CFU Registration Policies

Registration & Confirmation:

Bring your registration confirmation ticket to class. To use our membership benefits, advance registration is required.

Class Credits & Transfers:

If you cannot attend a class you must contact the registration office (303.399.0093 x0) at least 72 hours prior to your first class meeting. With 72 hours notice we can transfer you to another available class or give you a credit voucher to use towards another class in the future (credits are good for one year from date of issue and cannot be redeemed for cash). There will be a $7 transaction fee for dropping or transferring out of the original class.

With less than 72 hours notice, a credit voucher for half of the class’s tuition will be issued to your CFU account with the exception for CompuSkills classes. With less than 72-hours’ notice, refunds or transfers are unavailable when cancelling a computer class. Students may attend a future date of the class on a standby/space-available basis only. This option is available to students for up to six months after the date of the initial class.

Priority is given to first-time student registrations, so CompuSkills cannot reserve a place for you beyond a 24-hour window. If you wish to schedule a standby make-up for a class, please call the office at 303-399-0093 x0 one business day before the session you’d like to take begins.  As long as there is space available at that time, we will enroll you for the class.

Refunds & Check Fees:

Refunds are given ONLY if CFU cancels a class. Memberships are non-refundable.  If you cannot receive phone messages, always call 24 hours in advance to make sure your class is running. Tuition and fees are subject to change. A service fee of $32 will be charged for each returned check.

Inclement Weather:

Colorado Free University rarely cancels class for weather. Only if the city shuts down do we shut down. If the buses are running, we’re most likely open. If class is cancelled, we will contact you, but you can also call 303-399-0093 x0 for a “go/no go” update. If cancelled, classes will be rescheduled or vouchers for other classes will be issued.

Nondiscrimination Policy:

CFU welcomes students 17 and over of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, gender identity or sexual orientation to all CFU classes.  You do not need to be a US citizen to take classes.

Special Needs / Handicap Accessibility:

CFU is committed to making its classes accessible to the disabled community. Please call 303-399-0093 x0 to make arrangements for classroom accessibility. Also, please speak to a student services representative about any special needs you might have.

Instructors come from the community and are experts in their fields; however, they are not required to have teaching credentials. CFU strives for quality but cannot be held liable for the content taught by instructors who function as independent contractors.
