Mediation Training: Become a Mediator with This 40-Hour Training

Mediation training can be a terrific new career path as opportunities are increasing for trained mediators in many business and legal settings. But mediation skills are not only for professional mediators. Many people find that their careers and professional interactions benefit from what they learn in our professional mediation class.

For example, managers and human resource professionals who want to improve their conflict management skills will benefit tremendously from this week-long mediation training.

Similarly, attorneys who want to develop new skills in collaborative problem solving; therapists and counselors who want to supplement their practices; or educators who want to develop problem-solving skills to use with students, parents, and other educators–all can benefit from the techniques learned in this intensive mediation training.

Become a Mediator: Comprehensive Training is a 40-hour program is held over one week. The next session begins April 18, 2018 and runs Wed, Thu, Fri, Mon & Tues., 8:30AM-4:30PM through April 24, 2018.  Class is a combination of lecture, role-play, and discussion, taught by Jo-Marie Lisa, a professional mediator with over twenty years experience both as a mediator and certification instructor. In addition to running CFU’s mediation certification for more than a decade, Jo-Marie has taught mediation at the college level (DU and Regis).

Neila Achter is co-teaching with Jo-Marie and has mediated for the last six years with private and volunteer mediators in many types of cases. She practices restorative justice in high schools and in Reading for Peace with elementary school children, programs which have been instrumental in initiating practices and programs in schools for children to resolve conflicts. She has her master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University.
